San Francisco Green Drinks
June 1st
“Water – A Precious Resource”

Hello Green Drinkers!

Please join us next Tuesday, June 1st for San Francisco Green Drinks!

This month at Green Drinks we invite members to think about their own actions around water conservation and protection. Water plays a critical role in our environmental, social and economic well-being.

New Networking Opportunity!
We will also be offering “Green Networking by Category.” Explore the opportunities to network in specific areas of interest. Areas will be designated by color and will include for example, “Business Networking,” “Community Outreach,” or “Professional Development”.

Did you know:

  • A typical home with no water saving devices uses about 72 gallons per person per day
  • Two-thirds of US estuaries and bays are polluted from eutrophication (nitrogen and phosphorus)

Our global community shares a responsibility to conserve water and protect this precious resource. We are all accountable for the quality of our ground water, fresh water and ocean water.

This month we are asking attendees to tell us: “How do you protect water?”

June Sponsors:  EcoloBlue & Earth Island Presents…

EcoloBlue manufactures water coolers that extracts humidity from the air and produces, filters, then purifies up to eight gallons

of pure drinking water every day.  We are dedicated to providing people with pure, sustainable, and affordable drinking water solutions.  Water is the most important organic compound on Earth.  Yet, the World over, pure, uncontaminated drinking water is becoming harder, and harder to come by.  It doesn’t have to be this way.  There is more water in the air than in our Oceans.  And at EcoloBlue we have developed a unique, powerful, and responsible way to tap into this vast resource.  Imagine offering your employees a continuous supply of ultra pure drinking water without the hassle of bottled water.  With an EcoloBlue Atmospheric Water Generator you can and at an average cost of only 20 cents per gallon!  Please visit our website for more information about Atmospheric Water Generators and our environmental friendly products.  ecoloblue.com

Earth Island Presents … The Value of Stuff: Raj Patel in Conversation with Annie Leonard on Thursday, June 17th, 2010 at 7:00PM in The David Brower Center, Downtown Berkeley.  Annie

Leonard refreshed the national discussion about the dangers of our consumer-driven society when her smart and funny film, The Story of Stuff, became an Internet phenomenon. With his bestselling book, The Value of Nothing, Raj Patel showed how we’ve let economics take over our lives. Each author has offered a powerful warning of what we lose when consumption eclipses community.  When they meet in conversation, the result promises to be a lively and provocative dialogue; book-signing to follow.  Come stop by our table at Green Drinks and hear more about Earth Island Institute, our environmental projects and our monthly series: Earth Island Presents… www.earthisland.org/events
